November 6 - Jason Cropper, original guitarist and founding member of the grunge-era, power-pop-rock band, Weezer, will perform a live virtual concert for the City of Saratoga Springs, November 6 at 7pm, through the City’s Facebook page. “We could not be more excited to have Jason Cropper perform a live virtual concert for our residents and the internet at-large,” said Saratoga Springs Public Relations Director, David Johnson. “This is really an incredible opportunity.”  As Weezer’s original guitarist, Cropper contributed to the band’s break-through, self-title debut album, known as The Blue Album. Cropper is credited with co-writing the classic tunes from the album such as the song “My Name is Jonas.”

“With everything going on in society today, we are all looking for ways to connect with one another,” said Cropper. “When the City of Saratoga Springs approached me with the idea of hosting a live online performance for their community, I couldn’t think of a better way to bring people together!” Cropper will perform an hour-long acoustic set with a variety of originals, classic covers, a Weezer Medley and Cropper’s new singles, Goodness Knows and Perfect Dream. The November performance by Cropper is the first of a series of monthly live online performances the City is set to schedule through the winter. “COVID-19 has changed everything with city events this year and so we want to provide a way for the community to still get together and enjoy live performances, even if it isn’t in the traditional sense.”
