Payments
The Saratoga Springs Police Department accepts payments for the following:
Citation/Tickets:
If an individual has received a citation from our department payments will be made to the Saratoga Springs Justice Court.
If you received a traffic citation in which:
- It did not involve a traffic accident
- Is your first violation in the past 12 months
- Is not for speeding in excess of 20 mph over the posted limit (actual speed listed on the citation)
- Is not for speeding in a school zone
- Does not require a mandatory appearance before a Judge
You will be presented with the following options.
Option 1 - Forfeiting the Bail
You may forfeit the bail which has been established by the Utah State Uniform Bail Schedule and, your case will be closed. The corresponding points will be assessed on your driving record.
If you do not appear or pay the fine within 14 calendar days from the date written on the citation, then a delinquent notice will be mailed, adding $50 to your fine. If you do not respond to the delinquent notice, a "failure to appear" violation will be added and a warrant will be issued for your arrest, adding another $75 or more to your charges and possible suspension of your driving license. Option 2 - Traffic Safety Class
Offered online only at an additional cost. You must first qualify and sign a plea in abeyance agreement in person with the court clerk. If you would like to attend traffic school, please see the Saratoga Springs Justice Court Traffic School webpage.
Option 3 - Hearing
You have the right to request a Pre-trial Conference with the Judge. All court dates must be scheduled with the court clerk. Walk-in hearings are not available.
Fingerprint Services:
Saratoga Springs Police Department provides Live Scan fingerprint services to the residents of Saratoga Springs and surrounding cities. Appointments must be made for fingerprinting services. For more information see our Fingerprint Services Page. Payment is required at the time of the service and ranges from $10-20 depending on what type of fingerprints you need.
Police Report Request (GRAMA):
Under the Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA), individuals are able to request copies of police reports. To request copies of a police report please see our Police Report Request (GRAMA) page. Payments will be made when the report is ready for pickup or to be emailed and vary from $5-15. Payments can be taken over the phone or in person during normal office hours (Monday – Thursday 8 am – 5 pm or Fridays 8 am–Noon).
Parking and Animal Control Court Fines and/or Citations:
Payments for animal control court (ACE) fines are made at the Saratoga Springs Justice Courts on Mondays and Tuesdays (8 am – 3:45 pm) or at the Saratoga Springs Police Department during regular office hours (Monday – Thursday 8 am – 5 pm or Fridays 8 am–Noon) or over the phone at (801) 766-6503.
Sex Offender Registry:
Sex offenders need to register with our department (this is required within 10 days of moving into our state and 2 times a year for the length of their sentence) and may make an appointment with a Detective at 801-766-6503. Payments will be made at the time of their appointment and are $19 annually.
Police Clearance Letters:
Residents may need police clearance letters, a notarized document that states they have no criminal record, for things such as adoption or travel. Our department offers this service to only our residents. You will need to come in person to request this clearance letter and provide your photo identification. A payment of $8 will be made at that time. Calling ahead to ensure our notary is in the office will expedite the resident's clearance letter. The letter will then be ready for pick up by the next business day following the request.
